May Wrap-Up

May Wrap Up

After failing miserably in April at all things reading related, I finally pulled myself out of my reading slump during May. I didn’t finish a whole lot, but at least I’m reading again. That’s all that matters right?

What I Read This Month

My favorite book this month was definitely Throne of Glass. This was actually the read-a-long book for the Bloggers’ Book Club for the month of April, but I’ve been behind and I couldn’t NOT read it. I’m already a little more than halfway through the second book of the series and loving it.

What’s Going On With Me?

May was a super busy month for me. At work we’re opening a new location, I got a promotion (and thankfully a raise) and it’s taking me a little bit to catch back up with all of my responsibilities. But, my handwork was rewarded with a mini vacation to Los Angeles this last weekend. My best friend and I drove from our little desert in Arizona to the big city of Los Angeles to see Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett perform at the Hollywood Bowl. It was fantastic to say the least. We ended up renting an apartment for the weekend and really got the rest and relaxation with needed.

We found this great Japanese restaurant called Chibiscus that I totally fell in love with. We ate there twice it was so good and I was definitely obsessed with their tea selection. After the concert we had the pleasure of meeting Gaga’s choreographer Richie who was by far one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. And before leaving we ate at the Santa Monica pier and feasted on seafood like the queens we are.
