WWW Wednesday (June 25-July 1)

WWW

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Taking On A World Of Words where bloggers answer three simple questions regarding their week in reading.

WHAT AM I CURRENTLY READING?

I’m a really big audiobook listener. When I’m not listening to podcasts, I’m hooked to my audible or scribd account for the next book I’m going to listen to. In honor of my Summer of Toni Morrison, I’ve begun The Bluest Eye, Morrison’s first novel. I recently learned (from a podcast) that The Bluest Eye was rejected some thirteen times or some seemingly obscene number until it was published. Knowing the icon that Morrison is today, I’m not even sure I can believe that.

I’m entering week three of the Nerdist Book Club reading of Dune by Frank Herbert and I’m about halfway thru Our Endless Numbered Days by Claire Fuller which I received courtesy of Muse Monthly‘s June box and loving it. My last week was a bit slow for reading, so I’m hoping to finish up this last book soon and move on to Landline by Rainbow Rowell.

WHAT HAVE I RECENTLY FINISHED?

I just finished this month’s Bloggers Book Club read of The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer. I’m starting to realize that I’m starting to commit myself to more and more book clubs as time passes on despite my growing TBR list that haunts my nightstand and desk on a daily basis. I’m hoping to have a review up on my thoughts and feelings on this book soon. I’m very mixed on how I feel about this book, though I’m thinking this may have something to do with the fact that I listened to it rather than read it. Narraters do wonders.

WHAT WILL I READ NEXT?

I’m starting to see a trend with this section of my WWW, so I’m not going to be adding a book this week in hopes of catching up on the last two books I’ve put here, which were Landline by Rainbow Rowell and Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen.
