This progress post is technically a day late, but my internet decided to go out at my house precisely before posting. Just my luck. Yesterday was a fairly decent day reading wise for me. I wasn’t in the greatest mood at work all day though, it’s unreal how hard it is to find people who not only can do the work correctly, but also can think for themselves. There has to be some sort of test I can start having people take before I hire them. I was in a pretty foul mood towards everyone, thanks to constant annoyance. But, literally nothing makes me more angry then when someone barges into my office (my door is normally closed) and hears that I’m listening to something. BUT, instead of waiting for me to pause it, they immediately start shouting over my audiobook. So rude.
Day Two Progress
Ms. Marvel, Vol. One: No Normal (120 pages)
Rat Queens, Vol. One: Sass & Sorcery (128 pages)
Wild Fire (John Corey #4) by Nelson DeMille (audiobook; 5 hours 14 mins)
Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling (100 pages)
Saga: Vol. One (35 pages)
Hours Listened: 10 hours 14 mins
Pages Read: 703 pages
That seems like a lot of pages to me, but doesn’t really feel like it. I tend to read through comics pretty quickly. I have to stash about 5 trade paperbacks just for a day of comic book reading.
Yesterday’s challenge was hosted by The Book Monsters and was an Instagram book scavenger hunt! I did this really late at night after getting home from work, so I tossed a really sloppy picture on my Instagram (follow me?!).
1. A Book that begins with “B” (for Bout of Books!)
I chose Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes. This is a book I’ve owned for quite a while, but haven’t had the chance to read yet. I’ve heard some really great things about it though and hope to read it really soon.
2. A book you’re planning to read/currently reading for Bout of Books.
I put both of the books I’m currently reading (minus the audiobook) in my picture. Saga: Vol. One and Chamber of Secrets.
3. Blue Book(s)
For some reason I actually had trouble finding a blue book on my TBR nightstand, but saw this one tucked away in the corner. I chose, This Is Your Life, Harriet Chance! by Jonathan Evison. I recently received this book in my bookcase.co box.
4. Books from your favorite genre!
I couldn’t decide when genre I liked more, Sci-Fi or Fantasy, so I picked a book from both. Ready Player One and Wizard’s First Rule.
5. A book on your TBR shelf, or your full TBR shelves
I have more than enough books on my TBR shelf, so I chose the biggest of the litter, City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare.
